Lightbulb New Metas - Dealing Cross Faction?

An interesting opportunity came to light recently, and I wanted to see how people would approach it.

I play on a low-pop, RP server which leans toward Alliance(my side.) I picked up the cut, and have been keeping a steady supply of two at a time up on the AH.

    TUJ for my AH

However, if you check the link above, you can see that the number of frequent posters have managed to tank the price on the cut from ~700g when I picked it up down to 324g.

I noticed that the Horde side of my AH is an open market, though. Last night there wasn't a single gem of this cut up, and today there is only one for 650g. Clearly this begs to be taken advantage of. I've not dealt cross-faction before, so I'm not sure the best method to take here.

I could just post some in the Neutral AH and advertise via the forums/Horde-side trade, but I'm afraid that would attract attention, followed by competition.

I could move them myself and sell in the AH, but since I've not done it before I don't have any gold built up over there, no connections, and don't want to take the chance at getting sniped. I also lack a second account.

One thing I have considered doing is trying to find a goblin on the other side(either via TUJ or looking for one in trade) then working out a deal where I sell the gems to them via the Neutral AH so many at a time for a lower price, which they can then mark up and post over there. I'd get lower margins but hopefully sell a larger number at once. It also avoids the double-15% fee of moving the gems over then the money back. It depends on finding a partner, though.

    Any advice?

Getting sniped comes with the territory but there are ways to reduce the risk to a minimum. Reading this guide will cover most of it

As for the logistics, without a second account it's going to come down to trust. You need to find someone you can trust to help you deal cross faction. Finding a goblin on the horde side might work but unless you know one very well it's a big risk and also has the added negative of giving them ideas so they may look at returning the favor.i.e. muscling in on the ally side.

Do you have any people you trust who have a spare slot on their account to create a horde character to help you transfer goods? Preferably with some form of voice coms to allow to you trade as quickly as possibly through the neutral AH?

My significant other has an account also, however all ten of her slots on our server are Ally side. I could make a Horde alt and let her do the posting while I buy. I suppose I shouldn't be so paranoid about sniping given that we're on a low-pop server and PvE so neither one can get ganked while buying.

While technically against the rules i would get your significant other to help you. I am sure you play together anyway so you'll both be present on both accounts for the sake of semantics.
Doing that would also cut out any need for giving someone a cut of your business as well as i am sure you share your proceeds with him/her anyway Also you should have much more easy access to the account.i.e. you can trade pretty much on demand rather than having to wait for convenient times for both parties.

make sure you take into account the neutral ah cut and normal AH cut, it may not be much of a problem at the moment, but when the gem is reaching 500g im coming out with 100g the ah is gona take.

Yeah I'm figuring roughly if I can sell them around 625g on the Horde AH I can bring over around 500g, still much better than 325g over here. The price would have to sink to around 400g for it to be unprofitable to move them over, if I'm doing the math right.

Your cost to move them should be virtually nothing. The tricky part is getting money back.

You can also look at sending them across for a few copper to pretty much remove the cut from the AH. This is obviously more risky but can vastly increase your profits. I have been sniped a couple of times but as long as your careful the extra profits should far outweigh any risk and occasional loss from the odd snipe.

If your looking to transfer the gold back then i would either look for cheap mats to send back over to invest in or buy something of equal value on both sides at least rather than letting the goblins take a huge chunk of your gold.

Yeah the cut I posted was if I sold them on the Horde AH and moved it back over as liquid. I didn't think about putting the money back into other materials and transferring back, thanks for that tip!
