Living Elements Transmute Nerfed/Bugged in 4.06

A successful Transmutation proc from Living Elements now only returns 2-4 bonus Volatiles instead of the usual 14-26 (or more). There is some speculation that each element is now checked for bonus procs separately - while this would show up as a constant stream of x2 and x3 daily bonuses, it would eliminate the random x30 and x45 procs we used to get.

I can see most the Living Elements transmuters either switching back to Truegold or changing specialties to at least get some bonus drinks to go with their daily Living Elements transmute. This could lead to even more price pressure on Truegold Bars as production increases, and perhaps rising prices on Volatiles as production falls.

    I have done this 4 times now and I've gotten 3, 0, 0 and 3.

Done it twice and got 4 and 0.

The 4 was the same as what I was transmuting. How about the rest of you? Is the proc now going to be the same as what you were shooting for.

I should have added, once I got 3 of the same, once I got 3 of something else. It seems unlikely that they are individual procs because then you would expect the extras to all be different. Who knows what Blizzard is actually doing here though.

I wanted to hop in and clarify and confirm there was in fact a change that was implemented with the patch that unfortunately did not make the patch notes.

The change actually adjusted the return on the transmutes so that you weren't getting spikes in the amount of items you'd get from the transmute. Instead, if you transmute over a period of time, the amount of the transmute return should even out.

So basically if you transmute on a regular basis, you should see a more regular return on the transmute vs. a spike in large returns. Transmutation specialists will almost always get a PROC when transmuting living elements.

I got a proc of 8 Earth yesterday, so it still can be a decent proc amount and if it occurs more often, it could still work out okay.

My wife and I had a 6 and a 7 last night. I much prefer the smoothed proc rate vs lumpy returns as I don't think I'll end up having to use this transmute as often vs a truegold. I think I'd only ever seen 2-3 procs prior on this transmute.

Granted, I've procced 10-12 truegolds so far including a 5x, so I can't complain all that much about my luck so far!

My main complaint with this is precisely because it removes the spikes. We still have a chance of a x5 Truegold proc and a 3500g jackpot. The chance of a matching x5 Living Elements proc is effectively gone. By removing the spikes, the potential daily profits from Living Elements has been reduced and capped. (I know, pointless whining, but the new Living Elements makes me feel more like one of those cubicle statistician Potion Mastery types.)

Transmutation specialists will almost always get a PROC when transmuting living elements" "Almost always" being a relative term here, as I'm 5 for 12 for no procs while testing this. Blizzard math...

I feel like I am missing something here. Yes the potential for a bigger jackpot was there but the potential for more 0 jackpots was there before also. Assuming the percentages are the same then there should be no difference with this change except for those that get the big procs early in the expansion and make more because the value is higher.
