Selling Enchanting Mats - Don't forget these little tricks!

Something that I've found to slip through the cracks fairly often are the small -> large and lesser -> greater conversions for some enchanting mats.

Most people will post the mats on the AH to sell, in whatever form they got them in. So for example, some will post a x3 on the AH instead of x1, or vice versa.

This can be a halfway decent source of income as well.

Here's the breakdown on where this principal applies:

The great thing about this strategy... you don't need Enchanting to take advantage of it (with the exception of the Prismatic Shard conversion... Enchanting is required for this).

The conversion can go both ways for the Essences and the Prismatic Shards.

I have found that many times I can buy lesser essences and combine to greater ones, then sell for a profit. Other times, I can buy the greater essences and break down to the lesser ones, then sell for a profit. Don't expect to get rich off this strategy, but for as little time as it takes to check and do some conversions, it can still yield fairly decent profits.

    It's definitely worth trying!

EDIT: I should also note... this strategy can work great for picking up mats for making Enchant Scrolls at a lower cost too.

As an example, I bought up a large number of today on the AH, enough to make 53 (so 159 small shards). I got each small shard for 5s or less (most were 1s to 2s each). I used 20 of them to make two and re-listed the other 33 a 2.5g each.

In the end, each large shard only cost me 15s at most, but I could turn around and sell them for 2.5g each.

Also if you're an enchanter, you can turn into 2 . I believe you have to be honored with the shattered sun offensive to get the formula though.

Luckily, at 85, the rep grind is a joke. There are 6-8 dailies that are very quick to complete. I plan on getting Shattered Sun rep on my 75 Rogue 'chanter in the near future.

Unfortunately, I believe the only portal to IQD is still in Shattrath.

The other option is to turn nexus crystals into small prismatic shards and then into large but the crafting time is way longer then void shatter
