    Question To Monocle or not

    Hi all

I have just picked up today 3 of the new monacle recipe's for a total of 200g for them all.

    http://www.wowhead.com/item=52496
    http://www.wowhead.com/item=52494
    http://www.wowhead.com/item=52495

since cata had launched i have only scene one of these items listed on my faction/server pricd at 2000g now with the prices of the volatiles coming down and settling i was wondering if it might be worth trying to sell some now. They would probably sell to people for their banking characters or maybe better on RP realms.

Has anybody had any success with these or are they a item you list once in a while ?

    thanks

Was waiting for prices of components to drop some, I'd forgotten about these. I have all three recipes and I'll give this a shot this week.

I've made the emerald monocle in the past because I was able to pick up the mats for ~400g. I think I've only sold two though for about 1k each. It took alot of spamming trade chat, and they move slowly.

While I pride myself in using a on my own AH char, the value of this type of novelty item, as defined by the demand, goes hand in hand with their looks, which quite frankly isn't 'all that'; it is hard to see on most characters without a closer look and therefore people will generally not purchase it for anything other than their bank character.

The paradox implied by anyone gearing an Auction House character, a process normally associated with wealth and insight into the gold business, and 'wasting' gold on an overpriced novelty item for which recipes and materials are very easily obtainable testifies to the redundancy of attempting to sell these items.

Then again, some of them (Emerald and Sapphire) will be fairly cheap to craft, once coupled with faith in the general public's stupidity they do look like quite an appealing source of extra income afterall.

I bought and learned the emerald version of this recipe, but the one I made has not sold in over a week.

I picked up all three designs a while back, made one of each and posted them at the AH at 1.000G each. I have reposted the items at the same price every 48 hours ever since = they are just not selling. (haven't seen a single competitor)

Most people have turn off the dispay of headgear by default, so most people need to know its there or inspect to see it - and this not really a good idea. As all consortium members know: The bigger, and the more shiny things are the faster they sell.

    My conclusion after 3 weeks:

To Monocle or not = NOT

I've tried to sell for 950g for 2 weeks, then 750g for 1 week. No sales yet.

Actually sold 2 of them, one I didn't even notice I sold until I saw there were none in the AH! Sold for about 650g each I think. Mat costs can be pretty steep, and they definitely don't sell for much, but they do sell. I just bark in trade chat "Want to make your bank alt sexy? Get a , now in the AH!"
