    Shadow Crystals: What to do

What the hell do I do with these things?
    My only options so far:

    1) Focusing lenses - Don't sell well at all
    2) Cut em to anything and vendor, hoping to double my money with a proc of a perfect gem cut.

Any other uses for these I am missing out on?

These are used for the two JC dailies [quest]Shipment: Glowing Ivory Figurine[/quest] and [quest]Shipment: Shifting Sun Curio [/quest]

Price does go up on these days on my server but not by much, the other thing is to wait for to crash which i think it will even now i can sometimes craft which sell for 4g8s and make a profit.

But i think holding on to them and selling them when they are rare might be best bet, but this is pure speculation

Yes, the JC dailies are cash.

I just post the shadow crystals at cutthroat prices if possible. You'd be surprised how generous buyers are.

Sterling is right, I either list them on the auction house when the prices get quite high from demand. Or personally, when my stocks get too high I cut and vendor them (with gem perfection so there is the chance of 1g vendor price) or sometimes attempt to sell purified on the auction house.

Option A and B here are fine.

But Option C has the most potential by far. You will come out a winner in the long run if you hold onto these. I don't think it is pure speculation at all. Look at what happened to TBC uncommon gems.

If you hold onto every single shadow crystal you can, just think of how much a "liquidation" would bring in during Cata. Don't vendor them, just send them to a bank alt to stack up. Since people will undoubtedly be leveling JCing, people don't care what color it is they buy, whereas now color is everything. If it is competitively priced in Cata, people will buy it so saving them up certainly won't hurt.

These are really starting to tank on Frostmane. I've been snatching and stashing them for 30-50s each. Eternal Earth is running about 1g/per as well. Its a cheap investment and if they turn out to price out with the consistent longevity like TBC green gems do, dripping these out slowly I'll make out like a bandit.

One more option no-one has mentioned. I use these to put together JC Profession "Kits". The wow-professions.com leveling guide calls for 70 Green Gems. So why not use the cheapest gems available? In my snatch list, I buy all Shadow Crystals at under 1g each, and these fill a huge hole in my JC leveling kit. The kits sell well enough that although I do not know what the exact profit is on the Shadow Crystals, it's likely in the "hundreds" of percent profit.

They are needed for Icy Prisms. Since I have 2 JCs that make their Prisms daily I tend to keep. I also post excess on the AH and sometimes get lucky. I have sold them for up to 15g each.
