    Flooded Markets

It's absolutely amazing to me how absolutely inundated the AH is with scrolls used for leveling enchanting. The first day, I made some scrolls and saw that they were up for about half the cost of mats. I figured I'd hold onto em til the prices went up a bit. Today, was up for 5g. The mats for it cost around 170g on my server. Obviously material price is inflated right now, but I seriously doubt that they're going to crash enough to drive this scroll's actual value down to 5g in the future. Right now, they've bounced back a bit, sitting at 10g, but still a good opportunity to make some money.

is a similar story with the same materials as strength, selling for 14g right now.

Oddly enough, is one of the few scrolls retaining its value, though still about half of materials cost it is at around 50g with mats cheaper than the previous 2.

is at 13g with the same mats as the first 2, so around 170g.

I also picked up quite a few green quality gems (10 or so on B/O, the rest on bids) for less than the vendor price (9g). Most of them were fairly useless cuts, but some were actually very useful, such as some Solids.

Anyways, most of you have probably realized this by now, but just in case, I thought I'd point it out to anyone looking to stock up for the future or to make some money later.

My server is the same. Some guy mass posted almost all the scrolls from powerleveling his enchanting up from ~300 with a 1s starting bid. I won nearly all of them.

The demand for enchants is at an all time low right now, since everyone is leveling in some form or another, and everyone knows its a bad idea to enchant gear that you're going to replace in a level (although its a fine idea for 1s). All the people powerleveling enchanting is driving the supply up, as well.

Even if you look long-term and use WotLK prices as a benchmark, with most of the end-game scrolls averaging 100G, that would mean it should be fairly easy to flip these for close to that once the flooding ends.

To me, I would say that buying up anything under 50G would be a reasonable investment. Another option would be to buy them and then trade them for the mats of anyone barking Trade to get enchants, as the mat prices are still high and will move faster.

check places like ElitistJerks and other theorycrafting sites who list BiS enchants (and other items) for every class/race.

e.g. For a destro/lock is BiS for hands.

Write a list of any BiS scrolls and buy these up now and once raiding starts happening in earnest watch the prices rocket for BiS scrolls.

I'm working on the assumption that enchant mats will get to around WotlK prices plus a little bit higher once the market settles out in a few months, i.e. 2-4g per dust, 20-40g per greater essence or thereabouts, any scrolls listed that are around or less than my postulated cost price, I buy.

Thanks for the tip. I was wondering why I was able to buy all those out for under 15g sell one for 180g within half an hour.

What makes picking up all these cheap scrolls even more satisfying is selling the enchanting mats to all the people making them. Take advantage of them on both sides of the manufacturing chain! I am able to get a pretty steady supply of crafted ilevel 316 greens (tons of and ) for 30g and they disenchant into either 2-5 dusts or 1-3 greater essences (not sure of the exact expected enchanting mats). With dusts going for 15g and greater essences for 65g I'm making tons of gold on the raw materials supply side alone. Picking up the cheap scrolls made from my mats is just the icing on the cake.

Actually the is a BiS for many DPS classes until they can get themselves softcapped for Haste and then they can work on their 3rd stat. Fire Mages need an absolute ton of it because once they hit the softcap their DoTs give an extra tick of damage before expiring. 95% of the playerbase is completely unaware of their needs at the moment because things like this require reading. Boomkins, Paladins, Priests, Rogues, and even Huntards just to name a few.

If you are curious what the best enchants are for this content, spend some time over at WoW-Heroes looking up the better players on your server for each spec. Install Rawr and import these people off the armory. Let me embellish on this because this will require you to do some homework and learn how to use some software.

Rawr is a theorycrafting simulator that is actually pretty useful, as it is maintained by expert modelers. It can clue you in as to what the best/better enchants will be for these classes, as well as gem choices. Look at someone in full heroic/rep gear, part raid gear, and someone just starting out. People in Heroic/Rep gear at this point will be your target market because they are hoping to get into guild raids or PUGs so everyone moving forward will be after these. Higher end enchants requiring Maelstrom should be avoided at this time because crystals are extremely overpriced and these enchants will be handled internally by guilds.

Rawr will depend on you to also have a proper spec in order to function correctly. Garbage in, garbage out. Make sure you pick someone that knows what they're doing, or at least have the knowledge to tell the difference.

    Lol - so, so true.

I'd add that from a theorycrafting perspective the numbers have been crunched and the maths is in. Not much is going to change in BiS lists now short of Blizz tuning this or that along the way.

It's very definitely worth keeping abreast of what BiS stuff is and also what various popular theory sites say it is cos sooner or later (mostly later) people will catch up on their reading and then will happily pop into the ah to buy whatever they are told that they need.
