    Engineering or Blacksmithing?

Recently I have been considering dropping engineering for blacksmithing on my main. I have two engineers maxed currently, and one blacksmith maxed. The only problem is the blacksmith is only 86, and not a toon I particularly enjoy leveling (ew holy/ret pally). The weapons that will be craftable with blacksmithing in 5.2 are very apealing to me as on my server/Horde, there is never much in the way of blacksmithing items on the auction house. I would love to be able to tap that market effectively with more than just the 1 pattern I bought to max blacksmithing on my pally. My question to you all is two-fold: Is dropping engineering for blacksmithing worth it, and should I do it now, or wait until i can powerlevel it all with ghost iron?

    Thanks for your time!

Edit: I just noticed that I posted this in the wrong section. I had two tabs open at the time and meant for it to be put in professions. Is there any way it could be moved?

Personally I'd just knuckle down and level up your existing BS. 86 to 90 really isn't that awful and you won't need to do much int he way of rep-grinding, since you only really need Klaxxi, which you can get to revered just by levelling from 89 to 90 in Dread Wastes (with a grand commendation).

Unless you really hate melee classes, ret isn't too painful to level, particularly if you can find a decent BoA weapon like

Engineering is just too useful and too painful to level for me to feel comfortable with dropping it.

It's difficult to level ,but just don't stop leveling and especially get revered with tillers for motes of harmony.

If you like cool things like rocket boots pick Engineering.
If you like Millions of gold pick Blacksmithing. PVP dps plate is flying off the shelf and living steel belt buckles always always sell.

thanks for the input. the issue with my pally isn't so much the pain to level, but then a pain to maintain it after that, collecting spirits quickly and whatnot. my second engineer can do everything that my main can and has a decent stock of spirits. i am going to drop eng on my main for bs, mainly for the income it will provide.

I got my Pally BS to 90 last night and should be revered with the Tillers and planting Songbells this evening. Okay, he hasn't got a stock of SoHs (just five from levelling) but he will very soon be in just as good a position to produce them as my main.

I'd hate to lose all the engineering perks on my main - not being able to fling myself through wormholes or fly around in a little helicopter, no robot butler to tend to my needs, no more hang-gliding!

In terms of gold, BS is way more profitable than Engineering.

Yes, but if I already had a maxed BS at level 86 (which it sounds like the OP has), I'd far rather spend a few days levelling him up and doing the trivial grind to access Klaxxi patterns and Tillers mote farming than drop engineering on my main. It's just so nice to have all those little tricks and toys on the character you spend most of your time on.

this! :P While its a fair chunk of work, it will be worth it if you choose to make use of it correctly/efficiently.
I'm personally in the process of leveling 3 more chars to 90 right now.
