Well we are now down to 75G per buckle and he wont stop undercutting. So what do i do? Do i just leave up my wall of 50 at 75G and keep doing this or should i keep dropping the price untill he buys them or stops undercutting? It cost me 52G per buckle on this last batch i made.

Hm... how much gold do you have atm? If you got enough, you could consider buying his buckles and reset the market again. On the other hand, since you're still getting 20g profit out of it, continue undercutting a bit.

You could also think this way:
    - he bought 85 buckles at 80g from you with 20g profit each = 1700 Gold profit
    - he sells them at 75g again, so you ACTUALLY still have 5g profit even if you BUY his buckles and he's loosing gold (well, not if you take all his buckles into account, but for those specific ones he bought from you).

So the cycle is "You post at 80g => he buys => he posts at 75g => you buy them back, have still the same amount as in the start but made ~5g".
If it's worth that FINANCIALLY on the long run, i doubt it. But you're not loosing any gold at all this way, but you're slowly drying him out.
    Milestones: 10.02.2011: 100k / 09.06.2011: 500k / 21.07.2011: 750k / 10.08.2011: Goldcap! / 28.03.2012: GBank at goldcap - 2 million fluid!

i have 340k atm. Dont really want to buy his buckles, i will see how low he will go untill he either stops or buys me out and if he buys me out at say 60G a buckle i will continue to crash the market and post walls at 60,61,62g per.

Lol, he's probably thinking the same thing about you

How are you making them at 52g? It's over 110g market for the mats on my server.

The issue with dealing with this crap is your GPH sucks. I'd still always post one to drive his profits down and keep an eye on when to snatch up his inventory for stockpiling for 4.3

Try posting 1 for 50g and see what he does. If he undercuts, buy them up on another character. You win because avoid the crafting time.
Nothing comes merely by thinking about it.

Ore prices are quite low at times on my server, well he has been doing this for 2 months on our server i know this because a guildie of mine used to sell the buckles . Hardly anyone on my server can sell a buckle with this guy somehow undercutting anyone within 10mins. Im just wondering if i should just keep posting 30-50 buckles at the price of 60-70G per just so he cannot sell them at 150-250G per which is the price they where at before i posted my walls.

Sorry if this isn't helpful at all, but I saw the thread title and skipped right to the end to throw out an @Aeg mention. As far as I know, he's the resident Belt Buckle camper expert...

Well we are down to 62G a buckle and he purchased about 20 of me for 63g per, ill wait and see if Aeg will reply here. I have let this guy win this round and i will let him post his at 62G a buckle because the first 20 he sells will be at a loss for him, our server is Medium pop so i dont think he will sell them that quick.

Hi guys, first post. I'll Introduce myself in the other thread shortly.

You've got a few options with the Belt Buckles, though admittedly, all of them can be a bit costly.

    1. Find his low point for undercutting. Once you know the lowest price he'll post at, set that bar and buy him out, preferably with an alt. Do this over and over and over. Mind you, this is only a short term solution unless you also...

    2. Mess with the ore prices. Make a list of who is providing all the ore to your server. There's bound to be 5 or 10 people. Mail them, offer them X amount of gold per stack of all the relevant ores. Your mailbox will be flooded, but you'll start raising the prices of ore and you'll be limiting what your competition can produce. More, you can use all that ore if you...

    3. Max out other worthwhile professions that make use of the ore, namely, JC and Enchanting. You can start stockpiling for 4.3. Craft/DE until you have at least 1 full bank each of Greater Celestials, Heavenly Shards and Hypnotic Dust. You might not even need to wait till 4.3; if you're funneling the majority of ore to yourself, prices for all the residual mats from the ore will start going up in price.

Regardless, build up a strong supply of all that ore. JCs will need tons of it for 4.3, as will the blacksmiths, enchanters, and everyone else. You could see prices for that ore nearly double when the patch hits. If you don't want to tie up bankspace, send all the leftover mats to a level 1 toon and let it sit in their mailbox; Free storage.

The important thing to realize is, those ebonsteel belt buckle prices only exist because of your main camper. Take away his product, his mats, and his opportunity to acquire things cheaply, and your competition will fail.

Even under the worst circumstances, you can't fail with the belt buckles. Hoard them at cheap prices; when 4.3 hits, they'll be selling for a premium. spend 80 gold now, that first week of 4.3, they could be selling for 320 each.

tldr: buy out everything related to the belts, including the belts themselves. Starve the competition. Profit.

Never underestimate how big your competitor's stockpile is. It could take months before it could even affect him.

Not to mention that ore is, quite simply, something whose price you cannot control unless you are online 24/7, especially if the bots are at work.

The only way to raise prices on the ore without contacting the dealers directly would be to buy it out and then relist on a different character at a much higher amount in large quantities. If the other farmers follow suite at the higher prices, it could bouy prices for a few days until someone that didn't get the memo posts at the lower prices again and natural undercutting kicks in.

But yeah, the only worthwhile way to fight someone camping is to crash the value to the point where it's no longer worth his time. At that point you can only raise prices enough that he doesn't jump back into the fray.

Of course, if you want him to stop camping buckles he could decide to move into other things you're into and camp those instead.
