Mailbombed by a chinese seller...any help / tips?

I've been selling glyphs on an active but relatively low-pop server. Business is good. I gross about 10k / day average. I'm on the west coast and my main competitor typically logs in about 8p my time, staying on until around 4-5am. I'd joked with a friend that he was probably Chinese and using the money from glyph selling as part of the supply chain for a gold selling outfit.....

I sell on three characters. One of those three just handles the dross, the crap which rarely sells but I want to keep it listed just in case class mechanics or social demand shifts.

This evening I logged into that dross selling character to find nearly 1400 ingame mails waiting, all titled "gold farmer" with no text. I mashed the REPORT SPAM button before writing down the character name, though it wasn't one I recognized.

While I sat there tell my guild about the mail spam, I got a tell from that competitor...in Chinese. Google Translate was very hit or miss, but it sounded like he was giving me a 24 hour window until...something. As best I can tell, I told him that I felt sorry for him, this is a game not a job, and he should have a good day. By the time I logged out my mailbox (with TSM Mailing) showed 1900 mails, but refused to refresh and display them.

I submitted a GM ticket prior to logging out.

Upon logging into my second character, I received a tell from him within a couple mins.

Relogging back into the first character I mentioned, I'm now up to 2525 ingame mails and counting.......

Other than the GM-ticket-and-pray, any suggestions?

Good suggestion, but making three new ones (and outfitting them with the bags etc) is a frustrating amount of work =/

Annoying problem and one I have never heard about before. I would say that it’s only a matter of time before your new Chinese friend will get a ban / spam penalty, but let’s not hope this is a new tendency. It would be pretty easy for the goldfarmers to create mailspam bots that would carpetbomb competitors mailboxes while selling in a market.

Keep us updated on your ticket.

Up to 3200 now.. Ya this really better be a ban. Guy's doing it from a diff account though so I'm skeptical that they'll nail him.

Put them on ignore. It should stop their mails.

    1) Ignore
    2) Gm Ticket
    3) They must be spending a lot of time on this because Blizzard implemented mailbomb prevention in Cataclysm (which prevented me from sending mass mails to my guild), so I'm not sure how they are sending so many.
    4) Create a new banker, or get a name change. Hell - maybe they'll give you a FREE name change.
