[Recipe: Flask of Chromatic Wonder] Cheap Vendor Item - Major Gold?

I figured I would put this in here since having even one competitor could mess this market up...

Basicly while looking at vendor recipies for a project I'm working on, I noticed can be bought from [npc]apprentice Darius[/npc] for 3g if you're honored with the Violet Eye. Anyone that's done Karazhan once or twice (Which can be easily farmed) will most likely have the rep required for this recipe.

So basically buy this recipe from the vendor for 3g, and then resell it in the AH since it's NOT BoP for hundreds of gold. I just noticed this and posted one in my AH for 500g. Hopefully it works, and if I have to, I can always sell it for even 200g which is still a really good profit. It looks like one of the rare Sunwell recipies, so people should pay some major gold to get it if they don't know where it's really from.

If it works, I'm hoping to make some easy gold from being the only person on my server to know about it. ^^

I may be wrong.. but it looks like the recipe says that it requires the rep just to learn the recipe. So someone without the rep may not be able to use it if purchased?

Even if that's not the case, I think people will be highly suspicious of any BoE with a reputation mentioned on it. Selling vendor-sold BoEs on the AH is usually profitable, because nothing on the item says "sold by an NPC" - a reputation on it is sort of waving a red flag in my opinion

People do buy these but you are correct, it cannot be learned without the proper reputation. Its one of those big ethical questions.

You could argue it's an ethical question. But the way I see it, they managed to get all the rep then couldn't be bothered to figure out where the faction vendor was to buy the pattern. Therefore, they get to pay me to be pay attention for them. On the other hand, if they don't have the rep, the pattern will appear red to them anyway.

I blogged about it way back then, roughly three months ago, they sell, but very, very slowly.
