    [MoP] Rare Spawn Drops

    Aperently Blizz is taking a new angle on rare spawns in MoP. All rare spawns now drop vanity items and a medium level piece of armor. Lower level rare spawns drop Big Bag of Linens. Here is the full article: http://www.wowhead.com/news=204818/m...d-vanity-items

    The important part of all this is that a very useful item drops off one of the rare spawns. Forager's Gloves

    I'll save you the extra click, these blue gloves remove 1.5 seconds from gathering herbilism and mining nodes Aw yeah. Now we can all gather like Tauren. Bout damn time. To bad i won't be able to get my hands on this for my Realm First mining push. Oh well. Still badass

    EDIT: I strongly recommend reading the rest of the article. There are some SWEET drops. For instance items that give extra gold drop, 300% exp increase and an item that summons a minion periodically returning with Bag of Helpful Things

    EDIT2: I should learn to read entire articles before posting. In Karsarang Wilds a rare span drops Horzen Peace Pipe which increasing rep with all Panderian factions by 1000. Consumed when used BUT NOT BOP. Snap. Change title of post to discuss all new rare spawn drops.

    i.e. the Paladin becomes the best gathering class (if the server updates information fast enough ).

    Though there are some good arguments for rogues going into caves, mages blinking, etc.

    What is certain my warrior will still remain bad

    *mind blown* wut...

    This is pretty good news, and gives people more initiative to farm rares! More reason for people to equip their NPC_scan cache clear .bat.

    Jade forest rares are now dropping Ilvl 420 purples and not vanity/trinket items.
    No idea if this is intended or if it will stay this way.

    Great vids for the rares and items they drop !!!!
    wowmartiean on youtube has/is doing a vid series on all the Panda rare spawns.

    Yea, it seems like this could be the case. Druids will still have the one advantage of instant flight form, but prolonged flight time will be won by Paladins for sure.

    In the end, I'll still be sticking with my Druid as dual gatherer. My pally is tied up with other tasks

    I'm sticking with my mage. A terrible choice? Perhaps. But i dont want to go through the grind of releveling those profs :P Besides. Server first mining on a mage? Now THAT, my dear goblins, is an achievement xD

    << Main is a pally with Mining/Blacksmithing

    I really love the direction they're heading in with rarespawns though, the only downside will be the endless camping by people looking for that 'must have' item.

    I just wish the rare spawn locations were random in a zone and no specific places. That would eliminate the 'camping' I think and make encounters much more surprising and interesting.

    Agreed. I don't even bother looking for rares because every one of them has a stack of bots parked at the spawn point 24/7. They should appear at random times or locations, if not phased for each player.

    It's an issue with WoW though, too. Back when I played EverQuest there were rare mobs with static spawn locations. Know what happened? People formed orderly lines and afked until it was their turn to kill the mob. Ditto on world bosses.

    We had this a tiny bit when WoW first came out. People doing the HWL grind would form a queue and everyone would help the next person in line get theirs. As you said, though, these days they're all camped by bots but I don't really see an elegant solution because this lack of... whatever you want to call it is present in all areas of the game.

    Back in vanilla people did the Stranglethorn Arena all the time and it was pretty much a FFA. Even if you went there with a guildie or a friend, there were no alliances because people respected each other enough. Check out the Darkmoon Arena these days and it's always won by a guild with 20 players who all team up. Even things like the STV fishing contest, which used to be a solo venture, are controlled by guilds that have one person fish and everyone else goes around ganking the competition.

    It's just the community of this game that promotes botting and camping like this and I don't really see that changing, unfortunately. I absolutely loved hunting rares back in vanilla but I've just accepted that it won't happen again :/
