Thread: Thorium Ore

    Thorium Ore

    I just flew to Winterspring on my level 53 pally. In less than 30 minutes, I collected over 5 stacks of Thorium! The are everywhere on the "edges". Understand, I have the Winterspring Frostsaber mount om my mage, so I know the zone really, really well! I have never seen anything like this before! Can anyone confirm it on another server? I sure hope it is just a temporary glitch before Cata is released, or the price of Thorium will plummet. At any rate, you know what I will be doing....ALL DAY!

    Happy Farming!

    Ore was reseeded with 4.0.3a so different zones now have different ore make ups . I did a blog post about it but have to thank Kaliope http://kaliope.crafterstome.com/ for the original info about zones being reseeded.

    This is not a glitch... and yes almost every zone has become equivalent to Un'goro Crater for its respective ore.
    Not all treasure is silver and gold but it can be sold for silver, gold, and a little copper.

    While the stacks of ore are selling in the 17-21g range, I am getting 35-40g per stack of the bars. Un'goro was never this generous. It takes more time to mount than it does to walk from one node to another right now in Winterspring. Oddly, even at peak this weekend, I saw nobody farming the ores! Hope this last a few more days, as I could really enjoy the profits from this!! I also set aside 50 stacks to the bank, just in case something changes. Also, the Truesilver seems to be the "odd" node. have gathered 16 stacks of those while getting the Thorium. Nice bonus!

    Wait - what?

    I leveled mining 2 days ago and progress was agonizingly slow, no matter what zone I was in. I think it took me almost an hour to find 15 adamantite nodes in Nagrand.

    @Sterling:

    I was leveling my DK in Nagrand, and saw about 15 veins. Sadly, my DK's mining wasn't high enough to mine them. Logged onto my warrior and ate them up! Mega ORE nom noms!!

    After that, I re-logged on my DK and had enough adamantite in Nagrand to get me to 350 with ease!

    Interesting. Could this "re-seeding" change be the bane of old-world ore stockpilers?

    Yes. This one hurt. A lot. I've confirmed it myself, almost every zone has been reseeded for ore & herbs. Mithril and Thorium are everywhere.

    EPL, for example, is literrally littered with Sungrass, Khadgar's Whisker and Iron nodes. Felwood has Mithril in abundance.

    Mithril in Thousand Needles is as plentiful as horny girls at spring break.
