    Rogue Farming - Tyr's Hand

Fist of all my usual excuse: poor english, im sorry.

Here is what i did in the past two months on my rogue alt. Farm Heavy Junkboxes. Yes, its super duper mega-boring, but think about it: How many rouges do this? Just a few, maybe none of them. So, is it worth it? Hell yeah! Cuz while you do your walking-pickpocketing-walking-picpocketing routine you will kill a bunch of mobs to earn more money.

    What you need:

Glyph of Pick Pocket, 3/3 Camouflage and movement speed increase enchant on boots. At lower level 3/3 Master of Deception too.

Basically you will farm Heavy Junkboxes, but with a twist. You will kill mobs to break the boring process of farming and make your effort more effective.

First, the area where you need to go is Tyr's Hand in EPL. ( I think you can go to Hearthglen in WPL too, but not tested)

There are many 54-56ish humanoid elites. And you know, humanoid means GOLD in goblin language
Ok, we have 3 main buildings, the Basilica, the Abbey, the Fortress and a small church. Find a route among these buildings, i recommend you to start in front of the Basilica, becouse there are the mobs what we need. You can choose to not to kill the elites, but its a nice extra money with a little more effort. (If you dont kill the mobs there, then they will be pickpocketable again,as you restart your route, so you can farm continuously)
Focus on Scarlet Archmages(http://www.wowhead.com/npc=9451) cuz they drop the crusader enchant recipe (http://www.wowhead.com/item=16252) what can be sold for 500-1500 gold server depend. They spawn around and inside the basilica. Unfortunately they share their spawnpoints with other npcs, so you must kill all the mobs in this area to refresh the spawnpoints.

The elites drops Runecloths, 1-20 silvers and of course BOE greens which you can put in AH or you can DE them. Check the Greater Eternal Essence and the Illusion dust prices.

And there are 3 chest spawn points for a little more extra money.

    So lets count:

    - Heavy Junkboxes: You can sell them about 10-20 gold each. Human players need 1,275 Junkboxes to go from 11999/12000 Honored to Exalted, any other race will need 1,400. So find someone who will buy all of your boxes. My costumer buys them for 15g each.

    - Crusader enchant recipe which is a great heirloom weapon enchant

    - a few silver after each kill

    - Runecloth: I recommend to stockpile it, my plan to use it when Cata comes out to raise my Worgen reputation however i cant verify that we can turn in runecloths. If not, you can sell them otherwise or make Runecloth Headbands and DE them. Many players will level enchanting when Cata comes out.

    - Some BOE greens and blues to sell/DE
    - Zillions of superior and major healing potion ( stockpile a few stacks if you plan leveling a new toon)
    - and of course vendor trash

I can't tell you a basic gold/hr rate, but if you are lucky, you will get about 10-15 boxes, 1-2 stack runecloth per round.

    Well, hope you liked it

Very informative for people grinding/or even catering to the Insane title. But with the uncertainty of the achievement still existing when Cataclysm comes not a lot of people are starting it. Still a useful farming spot.

As Ancilorn said on the EU forums, the achievement will not be removed in Cata.

Oh, apologies and thank you for the link. I can now continue to do work on it. I started but then became unsure due to Cataclysm. I'll be sure to use your guide when I farm the Junk Boxes.

I've been working on my Insane achievement to break up the monotony (Yes, I see the irony in this) of boring old Wrath of the Lich King.

An alternative to Tyr's Hand, would be to try out the Black Rock instances. If you're going for the main purpose of farming junk boxes for the rep, a friend tipped me off that they found this to be more efficient. I haven't looked over any loot that is specific to BRS, but I do know there is still chance drops of Pristine Black Diamond in there if you choose to farm the normal loot from the mobs.

I already farmed Tyr's hand for the crusader enchant but I was planning on working on the Ravenhold rep too for my lock. During brewfest I got the remote on my rogue and this thread reminded me how easy it will be run BRD for the boxes now and since its an instance, there will be no competition to worry about.

on edit: the guzzler crowds give sturdy lockboxes .. darn

I've been turbo grinding this achievement out because there's actually nothing left to do in this expansion when your guildmates opted to all go collect gear that will be outdated, so what can you do?

I prefer LBRS because EPL tends to be covered in rogues on my server. LBRS provides an unending chain of humanoids that will always be up, and there's no competition. I suggest Youtube for a good route. Every one of them offers up Heavy Junkboxes as well. You can hearth out or drop a MOLL-E.

Regardless of where you decide on, you should use a macro so you don't have to tab target or click target all the mobs. The following macro only asks that you face the mob that you want to pick pocket. It takes a few minutes of practice but once you get it down, you're going to be pick pocketing super fast.

    /console set targetnearestdistance 10
    /cleartarget
    /targetenemy [target=target, noexists]
    /cast pick pocket

That macro works awesome. I bound it to the mouse wheel and then just run around and roll the mouse wheel.

Thanks for the macro. I've also found that LBRS is faster for farming the Lock Boxes. Gold per hour I can't say as I kill very few mobs. can drop off of the Firebrand Pyromancer and sells for 300g to 500g on my server. If you use an instance to farm the boxes i would suggest having some way to vendor and or mail items. The other option to speed this up is to set your hearth stone to the badlands.
