    Cataclysm Farming Routes?

I was wondering if anyone has come across maps detailing the most efficient herb/ore farming routes for the new 80-85 zones? I only plan on farming heavily for a short while after cataclysm comes out and I would like to be able to start farming right out of the gate and get a leg up on my competition.

The guys at Almost Gaming put this together quite a while ago, it contains some herb routes for leveling to 525. Sorry that I can't be any more helpful than this, but I'm sure a few clever Google keyword searches might turn up something!

Thanks, that is exactly what I was looking for. I suppose I will powerlevel my druid to 82 ASAP and then get him into Deepholm. Also, Almost Gaming has an excellent illustrated mining guide as well. The link for which I have posted below:

I can't edit a map at the moment, but as far as leveling mining goes, it depends on what your objectives are. If you just want to hit 525 as fast as possible, I actually recommend doing a lap or two in Sholazar or Icecrown to get some skillups from saronite deposits. Then once you stop getting those (I don't really know the level, as I only leveled from Obsidium in Hyjal), get the enchant on a pair of gloves and hit Twilight Highlands if you are 475, or Mt. Hyjal if under.

In Hyjal, just fly around the southern parts, keeping near the mountains as any good miner knows. Once you hit 475, fly / hearth back to Orgrimmar, take the blasted lands portal, and fly NW to Twilight Highlands. The mobs there are level 85, sure, but roughly 80% of the ores are in completely clear locations. Starting from the SW of the zone in the dark blue area, follow it up north to the lake, then down to the entrance to wetlands, and then arc around to the north towards the Maw of Madness. Follow that ridge line until it ends, cross directly across the river and continue on until you come full circle.

I was able to get my paladin into Twilight Highlands around 8pm last evening, and there were only about 10-15 people Horde side, and I was able to farm up a boatload of elementium, pyrite, and volatiles, since I am an engineer. This shouldn't really come as a surprise, but just like in Wrath, the first ore, , sells for much more than Elementium Ore (can't seem to get the #item tag to work for this), due to elementium being significantly easier to farm. However, elementium is the prime JC ore, as you get 1-2 uncommon gems and possibly a rare gem from it, vs only 1 uncommon from obsidium.

Selling the ore in ore or bar form seems to be the worst profit for me, for the time being. The two main leveling gems for JC, and , are selling for quite a pretty penny, vs the ore market is flooded with farmers.

Side note: Engineer miners should farm up enough Obsidium, or buy the mats off the AH, to make the . This thing is a gold mine. In the ~1800 ore I farmed, I also got roughly 80 of each volatile, the best of which for my server at least is selling for 40-50g per.

Or do like me. Grab a +15% movement speed potion from the witch in the cave in Ice Crown, do laps in icecrown til 375, then port to scholazar basin, enter the waygate, fly from ungoro crater straight to uldum and mine the whole zone nearly alone. Skip the starting zones and go for elementium ore and pyrite.

Main is Engineer/Miner so In 12 stacks of elementium and 2.5 stacks of Pyrite I had collected 22 Volatile Airs to sell as well.

I have recently posted on my blog a map with the route I took farming ore in Twilight to get my realm first. You can check it out at greysbank.blogspot.com

Applied during this morning's rolling restart:
The tradeskill nodes were too dense in Deepholm and Twilight Highlands for Mining and Herbalism. Several have been removed.

Tried to farm some herbs in Twilight after the patch, is it just me or did they remove a weee tad bit to many nodes? I found 5 herb nodes after circling over the zone for 15 mins.

I suspect the problem is two-fold. One, less nodes. Two, more people. I tried farming for just a little bit and decided it wasn't worth it.
