    Ore Farmers Are Back

How do things look on your server?

They're back on my server, just within the last week, i.e. randomly named toons posting up 100's of stacks of both Obsidium and Elementium Ore at insanely low prices, 40-60g/stack. I'm actually getting to the point where I'm AFRAID to run snatch, fearing I won't have the bank space for it all.

Funny, I was about to make a thread about this when I read yours

Today it has been extra crazy in terms of ore pricing over the last week. I started the week buying any ore under 60g, and have watched the market drop in almost a freefall plunge on pricing.

My threshold today went down as low as 45g on elementim ore due to the massive amount of ore on the AH. It didn't stay up long when they posted, but I actually saw ore go down to the vendor floor price of 36g a couple of times. I feel the way you do in terms of how much ore is too much?

Right now I am sitting on a good 200+ stacks of ore in the mail to prospect, and 2.5 guild tabs full of gems. The price is getting so low your almost crazy not to grab it when you can, but I do agree that my concern is how to hold it all.

Way I see it is if I do nothing but hold the blues and vendor the cut greens I could still turn a profit, so I see no reason to grab and hold.

The time spent to prospect all that ore however makes me cringe

The funny thing is that obsidium ore is still hovering at ~67g/stack.

Our prices are regularly around 75g/stack for elementium ore today it hit 45g/stack. I'm struggling with the how much ore is too much - I have the same quantities as you do venom and I've been trying to decide on a place to stop buying. And our obsidium ore is also around 70g/stack.

I woke up yesterday to pages of elementium ore for 40g. I bought 54 stacks, didn't really have the room to hold them so I reposted them straight away at 75g. They sold in about 2 hours. Nice and easy.

Ours as gone down too but not as much as you guys are saying. Though it has been some time since I have seem it below 80 it has been in the 60 range for a few days. And I spent a ton and now Its still cheap and I dont want to spend anymore more gold, but I also dont want to miss it if its going to go up again.

I am figuring that my stopping point should be based on how much I plan to sell when 4.1 goes live. I estimated I easily sold over 120 cut gems in the first week, and probably could have sold more if I didn't run out. Also sold a pretty good number of orange and purples as well. I had a rough number of going into 4.1 with 200 rubies to cut, which seems to be doable with all the cheap ore.

Obsidium slowly coming down, elementium staying steady with the occasional dip below

Noticed the trend on Sunday already, when the Obsidium ore price went from the 'server normal' ~84g/stack to 76g/stack. Only to be at 69g/stack this morning.

Then again, the Hypnotic Dust, GCE and all gem prices have been so low for a while, that it may help - even if momentarily - to boost some profit. Until the markets saturate and we reach a new 'stable' level. Not worrying as long as the shuffle stays profitable.

Elementium did a plunge on our server Friday and Saturday. Bought a substantial amount but nothing like above. Don't have the gold to do that. I will buy more today if it is still at the low rate. I did have a thought (get one every 10 years or so) about DE'ing. Several of the rings that can be made are high enough to get Hypnotic Dust, Greater Celestial Essence, and Heavenly Shards. Is there a point that the ore can go down to that prospecting the gems to make these rings and then DE is profitable? This may have been discussed before and if so, I apologize.
Let's nerf druid healers some more. NOT!!!

All of our ores and most of our herbs have all started testing new lows - and just in time for me to be sitting on some gold to take full advantage!
The guild is not composed of heroes. Heroes are what the guild kills.
