Brothers, I summon you! (Need some advice *bad pokerface*)

I've been shuffling since cata, but this week I decided to go big for the upcoming patch. 1950 stacks with GIO which overloaded me with uncommon gems. I've atm 3 guild tabs full with uncommon gems (I had 5, but used 2 of em to craft ornate/shadowfire to get some enchant mats). Got one tab full with spirit dusts/mysterious essences which will be turned into scrolls. I'm soon going to buy loads of ethernal shards, sha crystals and etc.

Im soon getting an alchemist and Im wondering if it would be worth to transmute like 1-2 or even all of the tabs to rare gems? I will get profit in any case because the unc gem price are so low, also the golden lotus. And I believe that it's a chance that you can get 5 rare gems on one transmute?

My question is. Should I use the remaining 3 guild tabs for transmuting them to rare gems to later cut/transmute to primal diamonds and create 450 ilvl crafts?

My server is kazzak so maybe some1 could give me a quick advice? Thanks for taking your valuable time to read this post <3

EDIT: Another question, should I also keep it and stop selling entierly till patch 5.2 hits or just keep selling as normal?

Yes, continue diversifying your stock--you should have a tab or two of rare gems and primal diamonds. A tab of enchanting scrolls or the mats for them would be a good goal as well. You're way ahead of me as I haven't been able to get enough supply the last month to stockpile like you already have, but your general idea of converting the uncommons to rares via the lotus transmute is sound--as you said it's profitable and I do 50 to 100 of these a day just to keep up with daily demand. I'd like to get ahead on rares via that transmute and will be making a point of it this week.

Diversify is good advice here. I wouldn't overload on any one thing. And I wouldn't transmute any rares (outside of Metas) before I sold through my existing rare gems. It's important to keep your stockpile in a somewhat 'malleable' form, since none of us know exactly what's going to happen. It might not be a bad idea to keep some Golden Lotus in stock, either - so you have them if/when you need them.
Remember folks, if you're not making gold - I got a name for you - Customer.

+Rep doesn't buy me beer, but it sure gives me a reason to have one - if you learned something new or thought about something differently, let's celebrate!

If you really need to get rid of the uncommon gems there is the quick and easy option of crafting them into Shadowfire Necklaces/Ornate Bands and vendoring them for 2.5g per uncommon gem.

I don't know about you guys, but serpent's eyes are fairly dry on my server...It's also fairly rare to get enough of them to use all of your rare gems for rings/necks each time you prospect a batch of ore. If you're going to transmute your uncommons into rares....Unless you're selling them raw or transmuting them into metas, make sure you have enough serpents eyes to craft the 450 items you're talking about as it takes a truckton.

If I'm understanding your question correctly, I think @Stede 's shuffle spreadsheet will help you greatly in identifying what are the best options for the products of your shuffle (jewelry? cut? transmute? etc)

Craft rings/necks then vendor them seems to be a fairly reasonable way to get rid of the excess uncommon gems, I handle an average of 800-1000 stacks a day and keep a large stocks of uncommon gems seems like a misuse of bank slot to me. Even if the uncommons goes for 4g/each or even higher, I still don't think putting them on AH would be a wise idea considering the low demand for those gems.

I use all my greens for enchanting mats and never transmute anything. If you start transmuting or making 450 jewellery, you will be left with a bunch of useless gems and too few enchanting mats (there is also never enough dust or essence on AH). The 450s sometimes sell for 500g+, but really they use gems that are in very high demand and have a high listing cost. If I see cheap primal diamonds, I buy them, but never transmute. The 415 rings sell a lot better than the necklaces, so I DE those for shards.

My threshold price reflects demand, orange >> purple > green = red > yellow > blue.

I have also been holding on to my serpent's eye, it seems like they will be getting some more uses next patch.

Thanks for all the lovely response!

However, my plan was like to transmute tiger opal, roguestone and alexandrites so I later on could transmute primal diamonds. But now I'm a bit unsecure, are you suggesting I should follow this or just trash all the uncommon gems into 415 jewellry? I will go profit anyway and I got almost 2 guild tabs full with enchant mats so. Give me a headsup

EDIT: I've decided that I will just keep doing as normal (was about to transfer my alchemist on another realm) but I will just keep doing as normal

Not sure about your server, but on mine its better to just grab the enchanting mats off AH (You need to put the price of mats and time D/E those into consideration). Why would you keep such as large stock of enchanting mats anyway? Aside from sense of accomplishment.
