Sale of your stockpiled mats ?

So with bots back and expansion near end what will you do with your stockpiled mats ?
As for me, my market is jc/enchanting and i have almost 10k Dusts, 3k+ Essences, 1k+ raw rare gems, 500+ Rubies, 500+ Diamonds, total 15k+ uncommon gems excluding zephyrite, and a whooping 37.5k+ores left to prospect.

And since the bots is back the price will go down fast and mats will go cheaper thus more people will be coming to my market cause mats is easier to obtain, im thinking to crash the market to drain my endless mats.

Please share your opinion and ill share mine for your markets

PS: my realm is low-med pop

I made the mistake of over stockpiling in the Cata transition. I wouldn't have that much inventory for long if I was you.

Prices for stuff like gems will always go down dramatically.

Remember the MoP pres release is soon and will most likely feature the release date and expect a certain level of chaos with prices when that happens as people realise they have more shit than they can shift.

My recommendation: try and get rid of as much as that as you can. Liquid is king in the end and I'd only rely on stuff like mounts, pets and heirloom enchants. Maybe some profession levelling stuff too, so you may want to smelt some of that ore.

I am on a small server, so when ore hit amazing lows earlier in the week, I went ahead and started dumping. I had quite a lot. I chose to dustify most of it. I had my alchy whip up several stacks of Shadowspirits and Infernos first, then I crafted all my crap gems, as well as 3/4 of my oceans and Amberj's and sent them to my chanter to DE. I didn't do them all, only because I ran out of cheap volatiles.

I also prospected most of the ore I had lying around from before (about 4 gtabs and countless mailbox trips from various alts) I DE'd all the good blue stuff that produced shards, as well as all the greens (except green jasper rings I straight up vendored) All the less good blue rings (like the ones that DE into only small heavenly shards) I posted on the ah for cheap enough that a competitor was enticed into buying all of them, which was more than fine by me because I have major space issues and I couldn't imagine on my server how I was going to sell such a massive quantity of them in one go other than to a competitor. I was just happy nothing had to be relisted.

What I am left with is a full Gtab of hypno dust, (most of my shards and GCE's sold or will be a guarantee sale this weekend) tons more mails that are not showing of things left to DE still on my enchanter cuz I got tired inbetween and 200 unprosected ore still left in an alt mailbox. lol and a wait list of people who have mailed me about DE'ing their stuff for them. (I put them all of til the weekend)

I am hoping that hypnotic dust will increase in value sometime in MoP. Kind of like how at the end of wrath Infinite dusts were going for 99s but now I sell them fairly regular for 10g a piece some days. So I am not too bothered by excess of them, though will probably limit it to 1-2 Gtabs.

Also on an amusing note, inbetween all the crafting and mailing, I managed to accidentally send several mails of stuff to be DE'd to my competition enchanter that I had been chatting with through mails, instead of to my enchanter. Duh, happy to say he was a nice guy though and mailed it all back.

It is? As far as i can tell, liquid gold suffers the most from inflation. The only reason I would advocate keeping some liquid gold around moving into the expansion would be to be able to get into new MoP markets and get ahead of the competition.

As far as current Cata mats, there's very little doubt that supply will drop off significantly, so all you really need to determine would be how much drop off we will see in demand. If it doesn't fall as hard, or as quickly as the supply, then prices will rise. If they fall at the same rate, you should be able to break even.

FWIW - shuffling old ore (Saronite, Adamantite, etc. ) is STILL profitable to this day. Food for thought

RE: Release date - I've heard June/July from several sources. One of which is Athene.

@Kathroman in my opinion I'd rather have liquid to get into those markets as you said. I've been hurt by several high investments in the past and it's sort of scarred me :')

Oh, I definitely think you need SOME liquid. I dropped quite a bit on savage leather early on in Cata, but I was the only person with very single PvP piece for about 2 months - it paid off big time!

That said, I don't think liquid is "King". 100k was probably enough to buy your way ahead of the pack in 1-2 professions when Cata launched, and I'd expect that 200-300k would probably suffice for MoP. I know there were a lot of people who dropped quite a fair bit to get into the DMF off the hop, but for every other market, I don't think it will take an inordinate amount to remain competitive. Especially if you ensure you have a source of steady income to offset buying all those overpriced mats.
