    WoTLK patterns/recipes

    Hey all,

Great forum! I've been reading for a couple months now and it's been so helpful!

I'm trying to move into the Recipe/Pattern market and I'm trying to figure out the crafting recipes that I should be keeping an eye out for that may be good investments to hold long. Also, how much would you invest in any WoTLK recipes.

    Your wisdom is appreciated.

Thanks Sterling. I've set most of these up on my snatch list after reading the post previously.

It seems like it's geared more towards vanilla and BC although there are a couple WoTLK world drops in there. I'm wondering more about things like patterns or recipes that may drop from Bosses in WoTLK that may have a premium like some of the BC raid/dungeon patterns.

Sunwell recipes are extremely valuable now - I'd expect WotLK recipes to somewhat follow suit. I'm snatching anything epic at 200g or less.

I think this is a little too generalized. SWP recipes were extremely rare due to the difficulty of the zone and mostly BiS for level 70 making them both rare and attractive. Almost all of the recipes were BoP and very few were BoE. In fact, I cannot get wowhead to show me the BoE recipes on the zone drop list for some reason. Obviously, the zone is not a challenge at level 80, but not many run the zone on a weekly basis. To say that WotLK BoE recipes will be valuable is a little misleading.

I've noticed that the BC raiding patterns on Windrunner have held pretty constant value over time. They used to cost between 500-2000 (depending on the pattern) and most of them still do. WotLK raid patterns have not dipped significantly in price since their respectively releases, still commanding 1000-2000g. So, there aren't many deals to be had for me and I don't see them rising enough to be worthwhile.

Plug SWP recipe links in-game and check your seen count. I reset my auctioneer data 5 months ago, and have yet to see 75% of SWP recipes. 2 are currently for sale, 5000g/7500g. This guy offers to transfer servers only to buy the Holo Gogs recipe. This will change as SWP becomes 2-3 mannable.

Ulduar/ICC/ToCG recipes will be very valuable in Cataclysm, as nobody will run these dungeons, much less the heroic ones.

Just a heads up all the ICC recipes are purchasable with a primordial saronite and are BOP. The ones from TOC are more common since that instance is easily doable and the drop rate is fairly strong on 10 man. The Ulduar ones are very rare/I have all the 10 man achieves and still dont have some of the Blacksmithing patterns. These drop more on 25 man hard modes(but still with a very low drop rate). When they do drop in 25s as of right now there is usually someone who needs it in the instance. I believe these will hold stronger value over time due to the rarity.

One factor that may change this though is more people will still be going back to ulduar though for achievements, something sunwell does not have.

I stand corrected on this. I was looking at the wrong patterns. Most of the patterns I was looking at are from SSC and TK.
