    What are your price points?

I am curious as to where people intend to price stacks of ore/leather/herbs assuming you are the first to the AH. Obviously while it is clearly a sellers market if it is too high per stack people will wait (20k gold as an extreme example). On the other end too low and gold is wasted.

So where are you planning on posting at. I am curious on the same token what you are looking for if you are a crafter, but this obviously depends on the price of the mats.
    500g gems?
    20k epics?

I plan on posting epics at 15k when I make them, and gems.. We'll see. I won't be the first to the market so it will be set for me.

    I honestly don't know what my price point will be (I'm a miner + herb gatherer). 1k / stack? 2k / stack??
As mentioned, it'll probably already be set by the time that I start posting things but is there that much money in the economy that 1k or 2k / stack of whatever will sell from a large number of gatherers? Especially if crafters need 20-30 stacks of whatever for sets?

You can always aim high and then adjust as needed...and it's going to be a ridiculously fun couple of weeks!

I plan to set the market values early on by racing to 85 and farming my wings off for the first weekend. Though nothing's set so far, I'm thinking I'll start out at 1,000/stack and once I get a few stacks posted see what kind of stacks/hour rate I can manage assuming I can get a good gather rate going in Twilight Highlands. My goal is to make 10k/hour in the first day of being 85, with it dropping significantly after that. The only problem I foresee with this strategy is the profession bottleneck in Twilight Highlands which means people may not necessarily be gobbling up resources as fast as I can gather them for the first day of me being 85 in lieu of them focusing on leveling their toons before powerleveling their profession.

One advantage I have going for me is Remote AH. I can just get full bags, log off, post a bunch of stacks of stuff (herbs, ore, volatiles) and log back on, spending at most 5 minutes between AH trips.

Either way, I'm mining/herbing tauren druid so I'll get my money one way or another.

I'm sure I won't be close to server first, so I will just research what recipes/patterns have a solid profit margin and focus on crafting those from the herbs/ores/cloth that I don't sell off during the initial frenzy.

From memory, cobalt was selling at around 1k/stack at the beginning of WOTLK on my server. Thats was several days in actually - I dropped leatherworking to level up mining on day 3 or 4 just to get those prices.

I'd shoot for 1.5k/stack in the beginning for low level ore.

It was really at 1k / stack? wow. I mean I know there was a lot of money floating around due to the dailies on that island - and I'm sure (or at least I hope) that there's a LOT more money floating around just collecting dust.

So if you're guessing 1.5k, potentially, per stack for Obsidium, how much do you think Elementium would be? 2k / stack? And Pyrite, if the prices are still as insane when Pyrite is mined aggressively... 3k / stack?

    I'm never gonna sleep...

Getting myself all geared up for the minapalooza as well. Anyone remember what herbs and leathers went for at the start of WOTLK?
