    Golden pearls basically worthless now

Enchanting has been changed, you no longer need a golden pearl to make a runed arcanite rod. This means that golden pearls, which before were a major roadblock for leveling enchanters and commanded a premium price because of this, are now basically worthless. They're used in a handful of mediocre crafting recipes, as well as enchant weapon - spellpower. However, mighty intellect is now as good as if not better than spellpower.

Sell your golden pearls now while they still have value.

I'm sitting on 5, after watching the price fall to 60g I just chalked it up to the list of stuff that I've lost money on so far.

I bought one last night for 32g and sold it for 85g inside of a hour. Granted it was the only one on the AH but still it sold.

Considering the #1 farming spot for them is now GONE, maybe Blizzard did it on purpose?

Since they exist in the game and you presently have them in your bags, they have a value somewhere down the line and can be used elsewhere. I recall back when TBC was relevant and GPs were being given away at 1g per - oh how I wish I had bought them all up back then.

They are completely available in the game, albeit not easily. 5% drop rate from Jaggal Clams and 1% from Big-Mouths. I have not heard anything about fishing times being changed but you can acquire a hefty amount of Jaggals by simply clearing out the Steamvaults.

Keep in mind that your average scrub player also has no clue about the change in game mechanics because reading anything about the game is like their Kryptonite. To them, more Spellpower is more pewpew, regardless of what anyone tells them because math is hard. They will continue to fork over the gold and I will be there to sell them the scrolls.

Side note: GPs are one item I consistently track pricing on and I've seen a slight dip since 4.0.3a

    It's true. People are dumb.

One of my main markets is in old world enchants and I've noticed that spellpower/healing power is still outselling +22 int (even though I'm listing spellpower for 550g and +22 int for 300g)

People do dumb things. Like the rogues that buy pairs of strength enchants (at 200g each!) from me instead of pairs of agility enchants. Or (my favorite) the people that buy +9 int to 2H for 300g instead of +22 int for the same price.

Finally, aren't GP's used in a healing glove enchant or somethign as well? I'm sure I use it in more than just spellpower and they are still selling.

They're still used in . Until it's widely known that +22 int is better than 30SP, the scrolls will continue to move and these pearls will hold some decent value.

It's true, spellpower will still sell for now until people begin to realize that 22 int is superior. Personally, I don't want to get caught in with a large inventory in a declining market. It might be wise to just keep a few on hand to make spellpower enchants, and restock as the enchants sell. Stock at your own risk, imo.
