    Niche market - Sanguine Hibiscus

So been lurking here for awhile, got few ideas and expanded my empire thanks to you guys/gals. So i thought i would start my posting with one of my niche markets, i have been running for years now. We are talking from Underbog instance in Coilfang Reservoir. These are used as turn in for rep, with the Sporeggar. Not only does exalted grant a title, it also gives access to recipes and a pet, so it's a pretty steady market.

So basicly what i have done is adding the hibiscus to my snatch list, when they are listed below 4g i normally buy them, and then post in stacks of 5. This is important as the turn ins are 5 each, and people will have varied amounts of rep with the faction depending on how much they have quested ect. I don't worry about uncercutting, since when a person wants rep, he/she wants loads of my item. I sell a stack of 5 for 30/35g, low auction house fee, and normally one or two buyers cleaning out pr week. It's not something that will make you rich in 7days, but it's an easy to manage, fire and forget item, that doesn't take up alot of time to manage. According to beancounter, my profit is above 6k on this item.

First post is always hardest one, lets see if i can manage to stay active on this forum

Nice first post! This is one of those items that people generally want all or none of, so you can find good deals all the time like you said. Also when people want all of it, they're easily convinced to make slightly high prices if it gets them closer to being done with the rep and turnins.

Another rep that has turn-in items that are still selling strong at the moment are the Sons of Hodir. has a wide swing of price ranges, and isn't generally something that most people farm. If you just keep an eye out for cheap ones and then resell when the supply is low, you can make a decent amount. You can't blanket the AH though, since the deposit costs are a bit higher than on the hibiscus.

I guess in the vein of "When I want it, I want it all right now" rep items you could go ahead and add , , and .

Of course your mileage may vary but I just did a quick search on my server of and and found some items well below what the rest of the pack were listing at (people hadn't even looked at market value before posting likely).

The way I would try to profit from this would be to post a single item at 1.5-2x the market value (or more depending on how much you want to milk) on a 48 hour auction. Then I would wait a day and post another auction of the same item at the same price so my two auctions are on staggered 48 hour timers. This would let me keep at least 1 up at my high price at all times. Then I'd set up a TUJ notification that would notify me when the item had reached my high market value (or something close to it, but well above normal market value). When I get the TUJ notification that the high threshold has been met, then I know there's someone buying out all the stock for that rep grind they can. I log on and either whisper the person to work out a deal, or just dump my stock onto the AH.

To be honest I'm not sure how the best way to handle the situation would be once the high threshold has been met. Would it be better to dump all stock at reasonably high prices, or slowly roll the stock out little by little while trying to subtly raise the price?

Gonna monitor the aldor/scryer markets, good idea. This made me think, what was the biggest pains of rep farming in TBC, and what comes to my mind? The Consortium ofc! after you hit honored and done all the quests it's a horrible grind. So i bet if you can find some cheap there is also good resale opportunities. Got a few for 20g each today, just to test the waters.

Edit: These are kept in your keyring, you might carry them without knowing it, just discovered i had 8 more on different characters. This will most likely also make the chance of finding them cheap on AH slimmer, unfortunatly.
