How do you check for undercutters?

To check If i am undercut I use the undermine journal. I find its time consuming to scan with a mod to do this.

    Here is what I do.

I go to the undermine journal type in the name of my auction toon and click search. I then quickly look at the cheaper column and make a decision if its worth my time to complete a undercut scan of my auctions in game.

If so I usually use the Check for under-cutters scan option in auctionator It's on the seldom looked at more tab the bottom left is the button.

Please share your methods cause maybe I'm just doing it wrong.

(Supposedly you can use Auction Profit Master to do this as well... but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get this addon to work.)

    Edit..

Im starting to feel like I posted this in the wrong forum

I let Auctionator check for undercuts for most items. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't really done any cancel/reposts with APM yet (used for glyphs, which I just let ride for 12-24 hours nowadays), but I think it works exactly like QA3.

I believe you need to go to the posting section and click on "Summary". A new window opens and then you "Get Data" for glyphs/gems/whatevs before you try to post/cancel.

APM Gives me a error log message that I don't have any auctions posted. Pretty much I use apm for the crafting Q the only thing I can get to work on it. Could be conflicts with other add-ons I have a constant stream of lua errors ... but for the most part I ignore them :s. I probably need to Delete my WTF folder and reconfigure everything. I have been stymieing this till cata is released.

I used ZeroAuctions to simply automatically cancel all my undercut auctions (in terms of glyphs).

When it come to my non-glyph character where I have a whole range of items for sale varying from epics to gems to mounts to pets to bags etc, I use Auctionator. You click on Auctionator's Sell tab and click the Check for undercuts button. It then scans all your items that you have up for Auction and puts a red cross or a green tick depending on whether you have been undercut or not respectively.

As a rule i don't tend to bother checking for undercuts these days, partly as i deal in so many markets i can afford not to micro manage most items and partly as i tend to plan my posting strategies around not cancelling and re posting.
For the few select items i do find it useful to babysit i usually have them on my auctonator shopping list so i can easily check them when checking the AH for deals.

During the early days of the expansion i may check for undercuts more actively in certain markets to boost early (overpriced) sales and for this i will likely keep using the shopping list tactic while more actively using Zeroauctions to augment it for bigger markets, using both the simple auto cancel option along with the summary readout.

The use of the Undermine Journal sounds interesting but sadly it only currently works for US servers

A note on Zeroauctions, as many may or may not know it is similar to APM although recently i have seen a couple of people mentioning issues with APM and i haven't had or heard of any issues with Zeroauctions so people might wish to check out if they wish to change over.

Call me primitive... but I use Auctionator to check for undercuts. (either by using the Status Scan, or by using the last tab and running a "Check for Undercuts" scan). The other method, is friends list.

When I see a name appear on multiple item undercuts, I'll just friend them, with a note added on what they're undercutting.

Next time I'm online, glance at my friend list on, and see which undercutters are online.

It MAY be worth putting together an addon, which would record WHO undercut you, and how many times. Maybe creating a more intuitive addon, to let you know, if "BigBankBoss" has undercut you 100 times in the last week, according to your scans.... then give you some sort of alert.

I don't bother cancelling due to undercutting generally either, with the exception of the enchant scroll market, which I can do very quickly. I will post glyphs again but never cancel - I've plenty of stock and I can keep reposting as many times a day as I am able with my RL/WoW balanced schedule

Same here really, when I craft my stuff I usually craft in bulks and can afford to not cancel items but rather just post new items.
There's an occassion or two where I do undercut, but mostly I don't really.
