    Not enough profits

    Hi guys,

I am currently on the market of JC, here is what I do to make some golds :
    - cut and sell all rare gems
    - keep zephyrite and jasper for daily JC
    - craft bands/amulets, DE it and post it on AH

On my server the price for elementium and obsidium is around 80g/stack.
My profits are very low, for example 4k of buying ore and only 2k of profit.

What am I doing wrong ? Any way of improving my profit ?

I'd suggest contacting a farmer for lower costing inputs.

How is the undercuts on your server?
    A) Always
    B) Be
    C) Closing

Undercutting is pretty harsh. Dumb people undercut by 30g or 40g a red gem...
I am on a high pop server, so we have a lot of JC on the market and ore under 70g are bought very fast from the AH

Try to see if you can't make more profits on , if you have access to an alchemist (transmute-spec, preferrably - it can really make quite a difference). Whether you cut them or sell them raw is your call - personally, I sell 4 raw for 1 cut, approximately. It depends on what cuts you have

Yep I have an alchemist transmut-spec, I will have a look at that market.
    Thanks for the tips

Also look at selling some of the dust you gain as scrolls rather than simply selling it raw as you can often get more for a scroll than the price of its materials.i.e. what you can sell the raw mats for.

Another option is crafting the JC neck/rings, but it is highly server dependent.

Generally speaking though, the tanking ring seems to sell decently. However, I would check on your server's AH to see what's posted and cross reference with TUMJ to see what's been moving on your server.

From my experience, pretty much any blue will sell. Yes, the tanking items tend to sell well, but often enough, people who are rerolling a tank tend to check up on rep gear and such before buying, and they discover that, for instance, rather than spending 500g on a nightstone choker, they can just buy - hyjal honored, which you get just by questing there from 80 to 82 (heck, you get revered there if you do it all).

So yes, it's always worth trying to sell your blue items, and putting the tank ones a bit more expensive, but don't expect them to sell like hot cake. I have about two dozen various JC blues up for sale, and I sell one or two per day. It's a nice bit of extra income, undeniably, but it's not ground-breaking either

My server is so over populated that I've given up on selling gems and Jc stuff atm. It takes too much time to create an effective strategy and my playtime is a bit limited atm.

If you are struggling to make a profit with a specific profession or find its taking too long, rather move onto another profession otherwise you will get too frustrated. Once you have mastered the new profession and are getting a decent income, you can start looking at trying to get a good Jc strategy going again.

I am now thinking of going into the Inscription market. I bought some herbs to mill and I have now 2 DMC up on the AH.
If I can sell them for a good price, I will continue this way
