    Curious what others are seeing

Hello all, first time poster with a few questions.

I have been doing the obsidium shuffle for about a month now since I found out about it. It has been working fairly well for me so far. I have notice though that the raw gem prices on my server are sitting around the same as everyone elses this entire time. The ore started out around 90G then dropped below the vendor value two weekends ago but has come back up to 70-90G since.

Now this seems like its a demand thing with the change to meta gems this week which I saved up a few for but the prices of the metas hasn't changed and I am having a hard time moving them. I moved a few chaotic the first day but that seems to have dryed up already.

Has anyone else noticed this trend or is it just me? And is there anything I can do to improve my profit of this?

With Regard to the Meta Gems

The Normal Meta gems in my View wont have changed in price as the demand for them is unchanged .

What you should be seeing is the following
    - Demand for new meta gems
    - Demand for uncut meta's
    - Demand for Red Cut
    - Demand for Red uncut

So whats happened is everyone wants the new cuts so demand for the other cuts has dropped off .

I have one of the new cut for the burning meta and the competition is so crazy that the price has already dropped from 1500g down to 350g .

Try a couple of these suggestions
    - Try listing uncut meta's
    - Contact a seller of a new meta and offer to sell a bulk of uncut meta's
    - Fire sale you current stock to clear them out and reuse the gold in a different market

Ore did drop well below vendor value a couple of weeks ago and has bobbed back up, although i am seeing it slowly fall back down again now.

As Zoxy said the expected spike is/was meant to be in the sale of the new meta's not the old meta's so if you haven't managed to pick up any of them your not likely to see much of a change, or possibly a drop.

I too have had some interesting experiences with the prices of the new meta's. I managed a good deal by buying 3 burning meta's for 350g and immediately placing them on the AH for 1k each and i have managed to sell a few agile ones (the only pattern i've been able to buy) for 1.5k each but there is already 3-4 sellers in each gem now and prices are falling rapidly.
It hasn't helped that some sellers were simply too generous or not brave enough at the start and even started selling at sub 1k to start with, when they had no competition at all.

I wasn't game enough to try for over 1k. I was the first person to get the agile cut and loaded both alliance and horde AH with them. I also made deals with the cutters of the other 2 meta's so I could list on horde side. I listed all my cuts at 750. My level 1 horde that I don't play now has 60k and my alli banker picked up 45k.

I had lots of uncut meta's so I figured selling them all @750 before competition turned up was better then selling half @1k+

We sold the new metas for 1200 initially. It was just over a full day before someone else acquired the reverberating cut. Both sides have now settled around 700g for them. One thing that wasn't in Zoxy's list - orange gems. Ours are selling faster than the red gems - much faster.

    Concerning Obsidium Ore prices:

I've seen a lot of volatility there, which probably has much to do with Warden's recent update (Blizzard's anti-bot program). To give you an idea, prices and quantities on my server have gone from ~500 stacks at 65-70g per stack to fewer than 50 stacks at 150g+ per stack and back to 500+ stacks at 65g. Nothing much to do but be patient and watch your markets like a hawk. There's definitely profit to be made, because such spikes in prices for raw materials (along with the inevitable shortage in raw materials) generally leads, a bit further down the road, to very profitable spikes in prices in enchanting mats, green-quality gems and shadowspirit diamonds.

wow thank you for the great responses. I haven't been able to get ahold of the new meta cuts so the chaotic isn't the most surprising but what is is that the incurs haven't moved. This could be because am only able to sell in the early morning so I am being under cut. But with everything else I still sell well because of the demand buying up everything under me and then mine.I just found it odd I want getting the same results with meta gems.

The most curious thing was a week or two ago when uncut shadowspirits were under 80g; leveling alchemy I assume. And you could buy elementium for under 60g/stack. Uncut metas are up to 140g but some cuts like eternal SD remain under 80g. Burning SD (which I assume will replace most chaotic) are under 300g but obviously will continue to drop.
