    Befriend your local Chinese farmer

Over the years, I've found Chinese farmers on every server that I've been to. You can sorta tell who they are, from a combination of things like how they name their character, to the way they talk to you (very basic English, requires very clear messaging to get your point across, etc.) Being Chinese (in race) myself, I sometimes approach them by just asking if they speak Chinese (in Chinese, of course). Since they're really just a bunch of bored people who don't have much else to do but farm and sell goods, they open right up to another Chinese-speaker. I don't maintain particularly close relationships with them, but they'll come to me with some amazing deals.

Because their entire goal is to sell stuff fast, sometimes they don't try to squeeze the profit out of every little item (I mean, if you have a stockpile that's essentially unlimited due to constantly farming, trying to get high prices isn't as big a worry.) Just yesterday, I had one of my contacts sell me stacks and stacks of whiptails at 120g per stack when the going price on my server is still 170-180g per stack. With converting the inks into Fortune Cards and Darkmoon cards, I'll make a massive profit off of them, and I foresee even more profits in the future.

So, if you're a Chinese-speaking goblin (or even if you have a Chinese-speaking friend who'd translate a couple simple phrases for you), you should definitely seek out those farmers and get close to them.

Just as a question what kind of Chinese do they speak? I've always wondered if they speak Mandarin, Cantonese, or some other dialect. Once I figure that out I plan on learning a few phrases so I can introduce myself to them and hopefully get a bit of a discount on my mats.

this is a great idea, unfortunately i have yet to find on my realm (horde side), a chinese farmer if you could elaborate on how to spot one, that would be amazing, i was once ally on my server and it was quite easy to pick them out, but it has been a while (early BC) and seems to me that there is an extreme difference in population on my server between horde and alliance... so basically if you could elaborate on the way to pick out a chinese farmer, again you dont have to, but if you could that would be awesome

On my server you can pick them out because they run mods that allow them to use extra characters. So most of their discussions look like "???" "dhjsf????" to me. We have two guilds that run that mod on our server. Both are quite mean-spirited so I tend to avoid them. I typically get my farmers via trade chat. Find the guys who have 10+ stacks of whatever you're looking to buy and strike up a conversation with them. Very often they don't want to spam trade to sell, they'd prefer to have a buyer always waiting with no need to haggle on the cost per stack.

Why is it that you delete a browser bookmark through lack of use, and suddenly it could come in use :O

About a month before the expansion I came across a page listing useful phrases for our farming friends so we could communicate, but cannot find it via google, but remember I found it from a link on another gold forum (but which one?).

However, a quick google search has netted http://www.wowgold-wowgold.com/Speak...rticle285.html and similar pages.

Now that The Undermine Journal is back in business, it's pretty easy to spot a farmer. Just look up the commodity (i.e. ore) on your sever there, and see who has been posting the most auctions. Jot their name down and send them an in-game msg or add them to your friends list.
Retired - I blame Kathroman for everything.

    (that's a joke, eh)

Like I mentioned, one of the key indicators is the name. Usually it's some mix of legible engrish and gibberish. English players rarely have total gibberish for their names, even if it's just their bank alt. At the very least, it'd be like "xKillaJillax". Chinese players try to go for the closest approximation they can with limited knowledge of english with something like "taodidufsg" (one of mine is actually named this).

Even if you just see them selling stuff on the AH, add em to your friends list and whisper them stuff when they come online. Don't be afraid to approach them; it's not like they're going to scam you.

Firm believer in dealing with farmers from the far east. Usually they just wanna dump what they have as quick as they can, so you can always negotiate with them. I have a few on my server that seek me out first if possible. I have one that all he does is farm borean leather which he sells me cheap. I buy it all and flip into Arctic fur, then either sell on AH of trade for other things I want.

    Love my chinese farmers!
