    Darkmoon Decks - Now!

So, finally, after milling several thousands of plants, I finally have:

    1*
    1*

I haven't yet seen one going around the AH nor trade chan.
How much could these go for in your opinion?

    Thank you,
    A.

Well your best bet would be to check out the prices of individual cards on the AH, and list your decks just before Darkmoon Fair at a premium (since you're offering people the possibility of having their epic now rather than later). Something that might work and that was suggested on these boards not long ago is contacting high-end guilds on your server directly. Whether BiS or not, the trinkets those decks provide are very good, and at least you're certain of getting them - as opposed to loot.

On my server, right now, individual "of waves" and "of the winds" cards are going for anywhere between 7,000 and 15,000g, making the deck worth around 100,000g - which is not something the average wow player can afford, hence the interest of contacting larger guilds. Be wary though, they will have some pretty strong bargaining power over you.

Also don't forget that the DMF isn't around until after the New Year.

You could probably list one now for something relatively high, maybe 45-60k. But that's only if you're hunting for gold right this instant and I wouldn't even figure that to be a gurantee sale either. If I had such an item, I'd save it until closer to the DMF landing and then post it at a higher rate. Anything DMF related tends to go up in price around when it's in town.

Too many players have little to no patience and pay for it in gold. If they bought it now, there's a possible chance they may find something else they could use, lessening this items value to them. They'd also be out a lot of gold and not be able to use the item and they know this, making this high-ticket item not as appealing. But once DMF is here and redemption of the item is instant, it will be more desirable to those impatient buyers.

If you wanna test the waters, post in trade a few times and see what sort of offers you get. New markets are hard to establish at first because there's no baseline for a buyer nor a seller to accompany their transactional decisions. Look for a price you're comfortable with and stick with it. Someone might even give you an offer you can't refuse that far exceeds what you expected. A new market has uncharted possibilities.

My server has a few DMCs up in the ballpark of 30k gold. I think it's entirely reasonable considering the price of herbs and volatiles.

Also, older decks from DMF were changed so that an NPC spawns immediately upon use of the deck, and you can hand it in on the spot. Are you sure the new decks don't follow this model?

If you can instantly turn in the decks now at any time, that will probably play a factor in the pricing. In the long run the price will be more stable as the item's usability will be instant, as opposed to when the DMF cycles.

Even if it were instant right now though, I'm sure that not everyone knows this change and at least for the first little while, sales will be better during DMF's.

Great insight, thank you very much.

    What I did so far:
    1) Announced in trade, competition is 0 which is mostly a bad thing . As far as I could tell I can easily get 25k but I was really aiming for more. That's the price of most lvl 85 epics.

    2) Posted it at very high prices, see what happens

Cards are going for 3k-5k as singles and there are 4 available but I guess some other people are collecting them too.
The volcano deck is missing one card and the Earthquake two cards. Herbs are hard to find atm. My favourite is still Cinderbloom as the best relation price/ink.

If you have any good idea on how to get a lot of inks I'm in for it
I'll keep you posted on the next chapters of the story.

    Thank you again,
    A.

Someone verify that we don't have to wait on DMF to return, that would kill the price of the trinket quickly. The money in DMF trinkets has ALWAYS been in the trinket when the faire is not in town (usually immediately after and not the week before they return).

How to get a lot of inks quickly -
    1) Complete Twilight Highlands on your herbalist, this will phase you in properly
    2) Install Routes and Gathermate2, both are updated. Configure your route using the Cluster option.
    3) Profit

I timed it last night on my Tauren Druid, with 310 Flight form TH is a 15 minute route. I tended to collect about 60-70 herbs per cycle.

I've stopped making decks since the DMF ended this month, and I've resorted to selling the cards individually. Normally what I do is during DMF I sell decks, when DMF isn't around, I sell single cards. This is because MORE people are looking to finish decks before the next DMF, and once the faire starts up again, people want the decks to go turn them in.

I'm not saying that ALL people think this way, but I've found this to be the most profittable format.

To respond to how much I've sold em for so far... Sold 1 Hurricane for 89k on Day 4, 2 Tsunami's for 60k each, 1 Volano for 60k, and I can't seem to sell my Earthquake deck. Since then I've had about 60 cards laying around, and selling each for 3k-9k. Rather good profits

Earthquakes are BIS for tanks right now, so that's surprising you can't find a buyer Cokeroft. One guild I talked to was demanding this trinket or the deck to be in hand to be considered for a tank spot.
