Cancel auctions (glyphs) in order by item name or class.

Starting up glyphing on a new server, and I want to try to work with just one AH toon for all my glyphs. I can trade items easily in and out of my bank using dumpster macros, but the problem I have is opening mail after canceling my auctions. I'll often post several times during the day, then cancel once every day or two (and open all my mail). This means a bunch of trips to the bank, since the glyphs seems to come out in the order I posted them. Is there a way to make them get canceled in a specific order (ie all the priest glyphs first, or at least all of each glyph type)? I usually use TSM for this, but could use another mod too.

You can create groups by class and then run a custom cancel scan with a right click on the cancel button. Then you can choose the groups you want to cancel.

But I don't understand why you want to do that since you work with one AH toon.

With packs of many pockets, I have 144 inventory slots. The first 144 glyphs go into my bags, but then the next 50 in the mail are of a different type (with 200+ different glyphs). My AH toon is now effectively stuck till I run to the bank to unload. If I posted 5 times that day without opening my mail, that means I need to repeat this...6 or 7 times potentially - not conducive to AFK opening mail.

If they cancel in order, when my inventory is full, I'll have looted 144*5 glyphs instead of just 144; I'd only need to run to the bank once while opening mail.

Thanks for the right click tip though; now I can just split glyphs into groups, and this will mostly solve my problem.

Still don't see why they need to be in order. My glyph cancels are usually 300 at a time. This is going to be 300/50 mailbox clears (6) regardless of what glyphs you are resetting. Just run and repost when your bags are full then do it again.

FWIW, /rl will reload your mailbox full. It is a huge time saver if you don't already do it.

@Skroo , I've always had the same dilemma as the OP. He may not be making it clear to everyone, but I see what he's asking.

When you do a cancellation of all glyphs, or allow them to all expire rather than cancelling, they show up in your mailbox in the order they were posted. So if you posted 1 each of 300 glyphs 3 separate times, your mailbox would pull the very first glyph and drop it in your bags. But it wouldn't be until 299 glyphs later that you would see the 2nd copy of that first glyph. Odds are, by the time you get there your bags would be full and you'd need to empty your bags before getting to that 2nd copy. Since your bags are empty, you pick up that 2nd copy alone rather than it stacking with the first copy. Effectively, you are picking up 900 individual glyphs. Without them in order, they won't stack. Even if you had 150 slots in your bags, that's 6 trips to the bank. If they could be pulled from the mailbox in order, they'd stack. With 150 bag slots, that's 2 trips to the bank. It also would make it more AFK- friendly to unload your mailbox.

@Lorelei offers good advice to break it up by classes and make it easier, but still its an additional step. It certainly would be nice if a "cancel all" would cancel in such a way that all copies of one glyph would cancel together, such that the 3 copies show up together in the mailbox and thereby stack in your bags, reducing the number of mailbox runs.

Why do you have cancel glyphs at all? I have enough inventory that I only do posts and wait for the other to expire. It sounds like you have a bit of a stockpile if you post throughout the day and cancel only once every 1 or 2 days. Why not just wait for them to expire? In my case, I know exactly the order I post them, class A, class B, etc. When they are all expired they will be waiting in your mailbox in the opposite order. Class Z, Class Y, etc.

I post all 406 glyphs in 3 visits. I grab group 1 from the bank, post, then get group 2, post, then group 3. Once those expire, I grab group 3 from the bank, empty the mail which is all group 3 since they were last posted and wait until they are all out and group 2 starts to come to the top. Rinse and repeat.

Check my blog entry, Handling all glyphs on one character, to see how I optimized my glyphs.

Ah that makes more sense. I'm always posting 2 at a time and only keeping 2 in stock so I don't generally run into that problem.

I don't bother with a larger inventory mostly because keeping up with 2 is about as many restocking clicks as I can tolerate in one sitting. :-)

Understandable. Folks that keep a larger stock, though - they have longer sittings, but only once a week. Something to consider if you get tired restocking daily.

You mean "/reload ui", correct? Or is there another command I'm unaware of?

/rl used to work for me, now it doesn't. I can only assume it was a slash command added by some addon.

    Whoops.
