    Consortium Profession Leveling Kit Spreadsheet

This spreadsheet is based off the work of @Namssob and his guide How to: Create and Sell Profession Kits. This thread was originally in the Ethereal Contributor Exclusive Area and has since been moved to the public forums.

The purpose of this spreadsheet is to facilitate buying and selling profession leveling kits. I barked a few kits in trade for fun and there was a lot of interest, which prompted me to develop this.

    What can the spreadsheet do?
    • Evaluates the cheapest cost to level a profession based on wow-professions.com guides.
    • Pulls pricing data from The Undermine Journal.
    • Calculates the cheapest alternative when 2 or more options are available.
    • Evaluates the number of bank slots required.
    • Provides a flexible shopping list.
    • Options to level to 525, or to an intermediate step (ie: 485 tailoring/leatherworking). This allows you to avoid the most expensive part of leveling.
    • Does all of the above for Jewelcrafting (495), Alchemy (525), Tailoring (485/525), Leatherworking (485/525) and Blacksmithing (525).

    This spreadsheet does not:
    • Take into account current available stock.
    • Evaluate ALL options for leveling.
    • Evaluate ALL options for creating materials (ie: prospecting Ores to obtain gems).
    • Allow you to mindlessly make profession kits. You still have to use your head! I recommend using wow-profession guides in conjunction with this spreadsheet.

    How to Use:

    • Import TUJ pricing under the "TUJ data" tab. as you would do in the Shuffling Spreadsheet. Baconcheese wrote a quick guide on how to import TUJ's excel data, check it out. Otherwise, you must manually input item prices in the "Kit Price" tab.
    • Switch to the Parameters tab. Fill out the beige cells only. Leave the remaining cells alone. The Overview area shows how much a profession costs to level, your sale price, your profit, and the number of slots each profession requires.

    • Switch to the "Kit Prices" tab. This is where the logic for each step is calculated. Take a look around, and familiarize yourself with the inner workings of the spreadsheet.

    • Switch to the "Shopping Lists" tab. This tab is similar to the "Kit Prices" tab. Here, you must fill out the beige cells with materials that you have gathered. The spreadsheet shows your progress in terms of units remaining, and % complete.

    • REMEMBER: updating the TUJ tab will change the spreadsheet's recommendations. Today's cheapest route may not be the same tomorrow!

This project is still in beta. Changes will be made at a fast pace, so make sure to check back for newer versions frequently.

Sterling and Namssob, YOU GUYS Rock!

Since I am not an Excel Expert, is the data from TUJ imported the same way as the spreadsheet from WT Stede's post?

Latest Shuffle Spreadsheet for the Masses.

    Thanks

Edit: I got the data to import! Follow up question? The numbers in the "Have" column are inputs from the users?

Yes, it appears so. In my original spreadsheet (the basic cheesy one that this cool one is based on), I needed a way to keep track of which mats I was missing. This was MOST important when I was working on making 3-4 kits at the same time since the numbers were so big. I've altered my system *slightly*. I've found that working on "completing" one full kit at a time results in more frequent sales. I can start advertising for kits earlier, while I finish farming/buying-up mats for the 2nd, 3rd kits, etc.

So yeah, that "Have" field appears to be user-supplied. Notice when you change it, it adjusts the number in the "remaining" field on the right.

Wow, this is awesome. I spent a few hours earlier this week working up a profession leveling sheet for JC but it's nowhere near this good. Thank you!

Of course, now I can't get it to work, having my usual XML import problem since I don't have Excel and can only use Symphony or oO. One of these days I'll get that figured out. Even manually updating the information, it has a much neater format and better functionality than what I was working with!

Doesn't work for me in Excel 2007. I just get #REF for every box after importing into the tuj tab(tried 3x in cell 1 to make sure)

Transmutation quest was changed to Truegold and some other stuff as well.
